You will need to present certain papers at least a month in advance of your wedding. Costa Rica law requires that you have two witnesses when signing the paperwork. They will even provide you with the witnesses should you need them. You may use friends as your witnesses but you can not use any family members. Just like you, your witnesses will also need paperwork with them: Their full name, their place and date of birth, home address, marital status and passport number along with their nationality.
